The Pastoral Council consist of representatives of our parish who through prayer, study and discernment provide advice to the pastor. Additionally, the council promotes parish life and encourages the congregation to become involved in the parish community.
The pastoral council is a collaborative ministry between laity and religious founded on the belief that all baptized persons are gifted and called to the mission of Jesus Christ. Those who participate in collaborative ministry recognize and believe in the presence of the Holy Spirit.
Nominations are held in April and new members are selected by the Pastoral Council, through discernment, in June. Each term is for three years. Self-nominations are always accepted. Any parishioner may attend meetings, although they cannot vote on issues before the council.
For more information or if you would like to present an issue or concern to the council, please leave a message for Pauline Garcia, chair, or Tim Korte, co-chair at the parish office at 505.839.7952.

Lenten Mission
Pilgrimage: a journey to a shrine or holy place.
Find your "holy place" this Lent by joining St. Joseph on the Rio Grande for our annual Mission from March 12 - March 15, 2012. Our Pilgrimage will be led by Msgr. Richard Olona of Risen Savior Parish, starting with Mass at 6:30 p.m., followed by the Mission talk. Refreshments will be served each evening with an opportunity for fellowship with other attendees. This a perfect opportunity for you to focus on the meaning of Lent and to find that special place for yourself. All parishioners, families and friends are invited.
