Lenten Mission 2012

Lenten Mission: A Lenten Pilgrimage with Jesus

Find your "holy place" this Lent by joining St. Joseph on the Rio Grande for our annual mission from March 12 - March 15, 2012. Focus on the meaning of Lent and find that special place for yourself. All parishioners, families and friends are invited.

Feed the Hungry

Let’s feed the multitudes as Jesus did! The Loaves & Fish Ministry will be resuming its collection of non-perishable foods for the less fortunate starting December 31. We ask that each parishioner bring one non-perishable food item per week. For the months of January through March the Ministry suggests the following items: Rice, Beans and Cereal. The non-perishable foods can be placed in the blue bins marked with the Loaves & Fish symbols.

Friday Family Rosary

The Friday Family Rosary is hosted by the Knights of Columbus. It will be a recurring event on the second Friday of each month. Each month will have a different theme. Please join us.

Make Room

Our church was built to be inclusive for all parishioners. Please leave the pews with indented spaces for those with canes, wheel chairs or walkers so that persons with disabilities and their companions may join us in prayer and worship. Let's make room for all at God's table.

Youth Ministry

Youth of the parish are invited to join the Youth Ministry. A variety of activities are offered to give youth a well rounded social experience that includes exploration of faith issues and opportunities for service. Joseph's Corner: Meets every Wednesday Night at St. Clare Hall at 7pm.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!!!!

The Youth Ministry of St. Joseph on the Rio Grande is looking for volunteers for the school year of 2011-2012!!!!! We need adults who are looking to follow their Baptismal calling to serve our Lord. As volunteers in the Youth Ministry you get the chance to have an impact on the high school aged teens of this parish and to help lead them closer to Christ through example. During the year the volunteering hours would consist of a helping run our Life Teen program Sunday afternoons, approximately 2-6 pm, a weekend retreat, and three extra meetings just for the volunteers throughout the school year. WE NEED A VOLUNTEER TO HELP START FUNDRAISING!

The Youth Ministry is seeking a volunteer that would be willing to lead efforts to fundraise for the ministry. We are seeking an adult who has previous experience with planning, running and completing fundraising events. The volunteer would work with the Youth Minister to plan, run and complete fundraisers.
