Who can be a server, what do I need to do? This ministry is open to all St. Joseph parishioners, grade five through high school, who have been baptized and have received their First Holy Communion.
After prayerfully considering the altar server ministry, new altar servers are first trained in serving, and then are scheduled with more experienced altar servers, so that they can be helped as they continue to learn. Altar servers assist at Saturday and Sunday Masses as well as funerals, wedding, Stations of the Cross, and other prayer services celebrated throughout the year. Occasionally, there will be other events scheduled to help the altar servers enhance their skills, learn more about the Mass and the sacraments, and to have fun with other altar servers.
To speak to someone about how you can become an altar server or if you just want more info about altar serving, please call the office and ask for Patty Mitchell's number. Altar Server Schedule |

The primary role of the altar server is being friends of Jesus Christ by serving Him, the priest and deacon, and St. Joseph parish community as it seeks to give glory to God and help people on the way to salvation. True altar servers enjoy the experience of helping at Mass, like working together with other people their age, and know that they are praying in a special way when they serve at community prayer at St. Joseph's. The ministry of altar server is an extremely important part of our celebration.
